Patient and Caregiver Advisory Committee (PCAC) Member
About the Opportunity: We are looking for youth and caregivers* for children/youth who have lived experience with pain and who have also had previous experience as a patient partner in healthcare, health research, or knowledge mobilization activities.
The PCAC advises SKIP in its patient partnership activities through a lens of the Patients Included Ethics Charter. Members meet for an hour every 2 months and are supported by administrative staff in their work.
PCAC members are compensated $1500 a year to prepare for and attend meetings. Any additional, optional work will be compensated, as per the SKIP compensation guidelines.
We are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in our PCAC and are intentionally shaping a PCAC filled with people with diverse backgrounds and identities. We work towards creating a welcoming environment that is based on mutual respect, belonging, and a sense of fun!
Due date to apply: September 5th, 2022, 11:59pm AST
*We are defining caregiver as someone who provides support to people with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities, medical conditions, mental illness, or needs related to aging. Caregivers are family, chosen family, and friends who provide care because of a relationship, not as a job or career. The caregiver role is mutually determined by the person and their caregiver(s).
